Duas Can Change the Destiny

Dua is probably one of the most commonly used tool that we use to reach out to Allah Swt to present our case and to ask for our wishes and wants. Duas can change the destiny and sometimes play a miraculous role in our lives. Duas in Quran tell us that It has parted the sea, defused the burning fire, saved a Prophet in the belly of fish, prohibited the knife to kill and cured the lepers.

Allah ’s promise to the believers

And your Lord says: Call upon Me, I will answer you; surely those who are too proud for My service shall soon enter hell abased.

Duas can Change the Destiny

Trials, tribulations and challenges are part of every person’s life. However, to counter that, Allah has provided us with a very powerful tool – and that is the tool of du’a or asking Allah for help and his mercy when we need it. And we need it all the time…. Equally importantly, we          forget at times that Allah has also provided us the opportunity to dramatically increase the effectiveness of our own Dua’s by encouraging us to make dua’s for other brothers and sisters in Islam.

According to the Quran and to the Ahadith (= plural version of Hadith) Duas play a very important and very beautiful role in Islam. Duas are an essential part of our faith and of the right path. Duas can change the destiny. Allah swt has commanded us in the Quran to make Dua to Him, and has asserted in no uncertain language about Him listening to our dua.

Consider the following from Quran and Hadith:

Quran (40-60)A

Quran (40-60)A: And your Lord says: “Call on Me; I will answer your (Prayer)…

Quran (2-186)

Quran (2-186): When My servants ask you concerning Me, (Oh Mohammad) I am indeed close (to them): I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calls on Me: Let them also, with a will, Listen to My call, and believe in Me: That they may walk in the right way.

Quran (7-29)

Quran (7-29): My Lord has commanded justice; and that you set your whole selves (to Him) at every time and place of prayer, and call upon Him, making your devotion sincere as in His sight: such as He created you in the beginning, so shall you return.

The Prophet’s reassurance to the believers

 The Prophet (PBUH) also said:

[Narrated by Abu Dawood ,1488; classed as Saheeh by Al –Albaani  in Saheeh Abi Dawood , [1320]

It was also narrated that the Prophet (SAW) said:

“There is nothing dearer to Allah than dua .”

[Classed as hasan by Al-Albaani in Saheeh Sunan Al-Tirmidhi, 2684]

This should leave no doubt in our minds about Allah listening to our dua and how He likes the act of dua. Let’s not lose that opportunity.
